Wheels Roll.
Wheels Roll Round and Round.
When you are have the guard you are a wheel.
That wheel can roll around - over your head.
Hurting your neck.
Be aware of that with your partners when you are passing guard.
Be aware of that with yourself when you are playing guard.
Pay attention to how you move and how others move.
That will make you better at Jiu Jitsu.
And keep all of us in action.
This can be tough to see in training because offense and defense work together. And you never really know for certain when you will need one or the other. I find that when I focus on mechanics it takes a lot of the guess work out.
I am including some of the inversion material in here as well, because the offense/defense aspects of guard pay are one in the same. The better you can recover guard - the more you can relax. The better you can relax - the better you can play - the better you can play, the easier it is to recover - and so on.
